Defendant:  Eric Lee a/k/a “Bubba” (DOB 12/10/91)

Dec. 19, 2018 -- The Westchester County District Attorney Anthony A. Scarpino, Jr. announced defendant Eric Lee of Mount Vernon was sentenced Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2018, on charges related to the death of Trevon Boswell and other charges in connection with a 12-hour violent crime spree that began May 21, 2017. The series of violent robberies spanned several jurisdictions including Mount Vernon, New Rochelle and Yonkers in Westchester County as well as parts of the Bronx. He was sentenced as a predicate felon.

Lee pleaded guilty Nov. 1, 2018, before Westchester County Court Judge Barry Warhit to the following and is sentenced as listed.

On Indictment 17-0561 (the counts related to the indictment):

  • Count One: Murder in the First Degree, a class A violent felony – 23 years to life in state prison
  • Count Seven:  Attempted Robbery in the First Degree, a class C felony – 15 years in state prison
  • Count Nine: Robbery in the First Degree, a class B violent felony -- 23 years in state prison
  • Count 24:  Attempted Murder in the First Degree, a class B violent felony -- 23 years to life in state prison
  • Count 44: Robbery in the First Degree, a class B violent felony -- 23 years in state prison

On Indictment 17-0630, Lee Attempted Murder in the Second Degree, a class B violent felony, he was sentenced to 23 years in state prison. All sentences will run concurrently (at the same time), including five years’ post-release supervision on all but the life sentences.

Additionally, he was sentenced to two to four years in state prison for Promoting Prison Contraband in the First degree, a class D felony, on a separate indictment (Indictment 17-0706) based on an incident in County Jail July 3, 2017.

Background
Between May 21, 2017 and May 22, 2017, Eric Lee and others participated in a series of violent events including the murder of victim, Trevon Boswell of Mount Vernon, an intended robbery victim. The series of robberies lasted more than 12 hours taking the men across lower Westchester and into the Bronx. Lee and four co-defendants were arraigned on a 50-count indictment in July 2017.

Several law enforcement agencies, including the City of Mount Vernon Police Department, the City of New Rochelle Police Department, the City of Yonkers Police Department and the City of New York Police Department, worked collaboratively to get these violent offenders off the streets.

The cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Julia Cornachio, Chief of the Vehicular Crimes Bureau, Lauren Abinanti and Brian Bendish, all of the Superior Court Trial Division.
