The District Attorney’s Office has created a number of Public Service Announcements and videos as part of the Office’s proactive efforts to inform the public about various programs and initiatives.

Additionally, the DA’s office has informational brochures that offer further information of various topics.

As a result of a tragic alcohol related accident in New York City last year, the New York State Legislature has elevated certain laws relating to DWI and DWAI crimes.

Mortgage Fraud

The District Attorney’s Office has formed a task force to actively investigate mortgage fraud. This task force consists of three investigators, including a financial investigator from the New York State Banking Department, a certified public accountant and an experienced white collar prosecutor. Gun Reward

Westchester County will offer up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of anyone in possession of an illegal gun. A 24 hour hotline has been established at Westchester County Police headquarters: (914) 231-4GUN (4486). Callers who do not want to give their name will be assigned a confidential number that can be used when it is time to collect the reward.

Safe Haven

The District Attorney and County Executive want to alert the public of the Abandoned Infant Protection Act, which allows parents, guardians, or other legally responsible persons who are unable to care for their newborn infants to anonymously and safely leave their infant in the care of a responsible person at a hospital, police station, fire station or a responsible person at another safe location.

Teen Drinking

The District Attorney has a message for teens and parents: if you or your child attend a party and someone becomes sick or injured, act responsibly and call 911. Your actions or the actions of your child will be taken into account by the District Attorney's office.

Prom Season

During prom and graduation season, the District Attorney's office, along with the County Executive, has developed a multi-faceted outreach effort to alert, educate and warn teens, their parents and any and all service providers of their responsibilities.

Safe Sleeping

The District Attorney conveys to the public the ABC's of Safe Sleeping for infants and urges parents to follow safe sleeping practices promoted by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), OCFS, and other public health agencies.

The National Road Safety Foundation, Student Assistance Services Corporation of Westchester and the District Attorney’s Office have produced a video discussing social interactions betweens teens, teens and parents and other young adult issues.

Portrait of Promise: Preventing Shaken Baby Syndrome

The Hudson Valley Shaken Baby Prevention Initiative (HVSBPI), a network of 22 hospitals throughout Westchester and the Lower Hudson Valley and developed and coordinated through the Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital at Westchester Medical Center, teaches new parents about Shaken Baby Syndrome and focuses on prevention before a tragedy occurs.

Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) Recording

Law enforcement and medical professionals who have worked with sexual assault victims know that victims are often "victimized" again when they go to hospital emergency rooms for medical care and evidence collection. All too often, the nurses who perform the exams often lack training and experience in working with sexual assault victims and in preserving evidence.
