Aug. 20, 2014 -- Westchester County District Attorney Janet DiFiore announced that Robert Mizell (DOB 05/08/86) of 609 Beach Avenue, Bronx, New York pled guilty today to:

  • one count of Kidnapping in the Second Degree, a class “B” Felony,
  • one count of Robbery in the First Degree, a class “B” Felony,
  • one count of Criminal Possession of  Weapon in the Second Degree, a class “C” Felony,
  • one count of Assault in the Second Degree, a class “D” Felony,

relating to the abduction and robbery of Aneudy Lendoff.

On Sept. 19, 2013, at approximately 10:45 a.m. the defendant, Robert Mizell, entered the DAT car service at 650 Sound Shore Avenue, Bronx, New York and requested a cab.

The defendant entered the victim’s vehicle and asked to be driven to 142nd Street and Amsterdam Avenue in Manhattan.  The victim told the defendant it would cost $15.00.  The defendant gave the victim a $20.00 bill and the victim gave the defendant $5 in exchange.  

The victim proceeded to drive from the Bronx towards Westchester County.

The defendant asked the victim do you know where we are going?  

The defendant pulled out a .38 caliber revolver pointed it at the victim and said “we are now going to Albany.”  While at gunpoint the victim continued to drive towards Westchester County.

The defendant stated if the victim did anything stupid he would shoot him.

The defendant then required the victim to disable the video camera in the livery car.

The defendant then ordered the victim to give him his cell phone and money at gunpoint. The victim gave the defendant his I-Phone and $125.00 in cash.

As the victim and the defendant approached exit #21 on the Saw Mill River Parkway the defendant demanded, at gunpoint, the victim pull off the exit.

The defendant then told the victim to pull off on exit #23 instead. The victim, at gunpoint pulled off to the exit #23, in the Town of Greenburgh and pulled into a parking lot.

The defendant forced the victim out of the car at gunpoint.  The defendant forced the victim, at gunpoint, into the trunk of the livery cab and drove away.

In the vicinity of Nepperhan Road and Tower Hill Road, in the Village of Tarrytown, the victim was able to unlatch the trunk as the defendant was driving and jumped out of the moving vehicle.

The victim suffered a fractured ankle as a result of jumping out of the moving car, requiring surgery and suffered complications as a result of that surgery.

The defendant was apprehended driving the victim’s livery cab in the vicinity of Nepperhan Road adjacent to the Park and Ride Parking Lot in the Village of Tarrytown.

Upon his arrest the defendant was in possession of the victim’s cash, and I-phone. The defendant also possessed a loaded operable .38 caliber revolver.

The defendant’s remand status was continued.

In addition to being a state parole absconder, he is also on Federal parole.

Sentencing will be on Oct. 2, 2014.

He faces a maximum sentence of twenty-five years in state prison.

Senior Assistant District Attorney Lana Hochheiser of the Career Criminal Bureau is prosecuting the case.
