April 23, 2013 -- Westchester County District Attorney Janet DiFiore announced that Sean Ward (DOB 07/04/82) of 126 Valley Street, Sleepy Hollow, New York was arraigned today on an eight count indictment charging him with:

  • two counts of Attempted Murder in the Second Degree, class “B” Felonies,
  • one count of Assault in the First Degree, a class “B” Felony,
  • one count of Attempted Assault in the First Degree, a class “C” Felony,
  • one count of Assault in the Second Degree, class “D” Felony,
  • three counts of Criminal Possession in the Second Degree, class “C” Felonies.

On March 31, 2013 at about 3:37 a.m. the Sleepy Hollow Police Department received numerous calls reporting shots fired in the area of Beekman Ave and Barnhart Ave in the vicinity of a local bar.

Two victims in their mid-twenties were found lying in the roadway on Beekman Avenue, with gunshot wounds.

The victims were transported to the Westchester Medical Center.

The defendant was immediately located by responding police and apprehended on Clinton Street, a short distance from the scene.

A firearm was recovered.

Bail was set at $250,000 cash or bond.

The defendant’s next court date is May 7, 2013.

He faces a maximum sentence of twenty five years in state prison on each of the top counts in the indictment.

Assistant District Attorney Christine O’Connor, of the Superior Court Trail Division, is prosecuting the case.
