The Gala honored distinguished individuals from various fields for their contributions to the Italian American community.

The National Italian American Foundation is dedicated to promoting the culture and heritage of Italian Americans.

Gruber was a trusting, vibrant, churchgoing octogenarian, who lived by herself and would always lend a hand to anyone in her Mount Vernon neighborhood. She lost her life over the theft of some copper plumbing and a few household items that the defendant took from her home to sell as scrap.

Board of Legislators meeting

Westchester District Attorney Anthony A. Scarpino, Jr. met with members of the County Board’s Public Safety Committee on March 7, 2017 to discuss several issues including the opioid epidemic in Westchester County. He said heroin addiction, in particular, has affected every segment of our population and noted, “It does not discriminate on the basis of age, economic status or race.”

District Attorney Anthony A. Scarpino, Jr. served as keynote speaker at the Annual Westchester Government Relations Legislative Breakfast where he discussed how his office investigates and prosecutes hate crimes and seeks to prevent acts of anti-Semitism. The breakfast took place on March 31, 2017 and was sponsored by UJA-Federation of New York and the Westchester Jewish Council.
