Dec. 13, 2012 -- Westchester County District Attorney Janet DiFiore announced that Jose Piedra

(DOB 01/27/64) of 18 Kimball Avenue, Sleepy Hollow, New York, was sentenced today to an indeterminate sentence of 1 to 3 years in state prison on his September 2012 guilty plea to:

ยท one count of Unlawful Surveillance in the Second Degree, a Class "E" Felony,

relating to the illegal photographing of a woman's intimate parts without their knowledge or consent.

On August 22, 2011, the defendant was observed by store security in the Target store at the City Center in White Plains milling around the store acting suspiciously and using a cellular telephone to record the intimate areas of women underneath their skirts.

White Plains Police were contacted and responded to the store.

After viewing the store's surveillance video, police canvassed the store and located the defendant, who was subsequently arrested.

When they returned to the security office, police were informed the defendant had been observed repeating his actions with another woman while police were looking for him.

A warrant was executed and several video clip files of at least three women were taken by the defendant under spirituous circumstances were also found on the defendant's phone.

Upon completion of his sentence, the defendant will have to register as a sex offender under the Sex Offender Registry Act.

Assistant District Attorney Michelle Lopez, Deputy Chief of the Sex Crimes Bureau, prosecuted the case.
